Justin Rose named McLaren Golf's first global ambassador and investor

World No. 5 Justin Rose has become the first Tour ambassador and investor for McLaren Golf. The 45-year-old will debut the brand's clubs at this week's PGA Tour Cadillac Championship at Trump Doral. The official launch is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29.

McLaren Golf announced on Monday that Justin Rose will serve as its inaugural Tour staffer, ambassador, partner, and R&D collaborator. The former world No. 1, who has won twice on the PGA Tour since August and posted top-three finishes in the last two Masters, leads the tour in greens in regulation this season and ranks seventh in Strokes Gained: Approach. Rose will carry a McLaren papaya staff bag and logo during the event, gaming a set of Series 1 irons from 5-PW and a Series 3 4-iron. “From the beginning, this has been a passion project,” Rose said in a release. “I’ve had the opportunity to be involved from the outset — working with the team, testing the clubs and helping shape what they’ve become. That level of involvement, combined with the standards McLaren brings to everything they do, made this an easy decision for me. I’m excited to put the clubs in play and watch the brand flourish.” Rose's decision stems partly from his relationship with Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, and his regular golf games with Lando Norris, McLaren's Formula 1 driver and reigning world champion. The brand's official unveiling coincides with the Cadillac Championship and Formula 1's Miami Championship on April 29.
