KDE Plasma 6.7 release adds classic themes and per-screen desktops

KDE Plasma 6.7 has arrived with restored themes from the KDE 4 era and support for separate virtual desktops on each screen. The update also introduces a new theming system called Union as a tech preview.

Oxygen and Air themes return as full Global Themes with light, dark, and twilight variants, along with the original KDE 4 wallpapers. Community contributors restored panels, window indicators, switches, and adaptive opacity for the themes.

Plasma now allows users to configure independent virtual desktops per monitor after years of requests. Desktop switching has been improved with faster Overview access via Super+W and support for scrolling or Page Up and Page Down keys.

Other changes include easier access to special characters on the virtual keyboard, updated app cards in Discover, a new print queue tool, and the addition of the Vietnamese lunar calendar. A light and dark theme toggle has been added to quick settings.

Union provides a unified CSS-based theming approach for Plasma, QtQuick, and QtWidgets components, though it remains disabled by default and limited to QtQuick. Users on rolling distributions such as Arch Linux can obtain the release now, while others may build from source or try it via KDE neon User Edition.
