Kemenhub free mudik registration opens today

The Directorate General of Land Transportation under the Ministry of Transportation has opened online registration for the free mudik program for the 2026 Lebaran transport period starting Sunday (March 1, 2026) at 08:00 WIB. The program prepares 401 buses with a capacity of 15,834 passengers for outbound and return flows to various cities in Indonesia. Registration is available via the nusantara.kemenhub.go.id website until March 15, 2026, or until the daily quota is met.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Online registration for the free road transport mudik program for Lebaran 2026 has opened today, Sunday (March 1, 2026) at 08:00 WIB, by the Directorate General of Land Transportation under the Ministry of Transportation. Registration will close on March 15, 2026, or when the daily quota is fulfilled, via the nusantara.kemenhub.go.id website.

The Ministry of Transportation has prepared 401 buses that can carry 15,834 passengers for this program, covering outbound and return flows. "Registration will open starting March 1, 2026, online via the nusantara.kemenhub.go.id website. Registration will close when the entire quota is met," said Director General of Land Transportation, Aan Suhanan, in a written statement in Jakarta on Wednesday (February 25, 2026).

For the outbound flow, the program reaches 34 destination cities in 10 provinces, including Palembang, Lampung, Bengkulu, Padang, Medan, Aceh, Garut, Tasikmalaya, Cirebon, Kuningan, Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri, Purwokerto, Tegal, Pekalongan, Demak, Boyolali, Klaten, Pati, Blora, Cilacap, Wonosobo, Kebumen, Magelang, Wonosari, Jepara, Sragen, Madiun, Surabaya, Tuban, Malang, and Tulungagung.

Meanwhile, the return flow departs from 12 cities in 8 provinces, namely Kuningan, Madiun, Surabaya, Palembang, Padang, Medan, Aceh, Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri, and Purwokerto.

In addition to the free land mudik, the Ministry of Transportation is also preparing up to 18 percent discounts on plane tickets for the 2026 Lebaran mudik period, along with free mudik programs for train and sea transport modes, including destinations to West Nusa Tenggara. Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi stated that this stimulus will be strictly monitored to ensure the public feels the ticket price reduction.
