Kirsten Dunst begins filming 'A Minecraft Movie 2'

Kirsten Dunst has started work on A Minecraft Movie 2, playing the character Alex. The actress shared an image of director's chairs labeled for her and co-star Jack Black on set.

Production on the Warner Bros. and Legendary sequel began this week. Dunst, who was cast in March, posted a photo of the chairs marked Alex and Steve with the caption “It has begun…..” The film follows last year’s A Minecraft Movie, which opened in April 2025 and set a strong box office record for the studio.
