Corruption Eradication Commission Chairman Setyo Budiyanto has responded to the possibility of summoning North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution to a trial in a graft case involving road projects, after the KPK's Supervisory Board examined related staff. He said explanations would emerge from Dewas's clarifications and does not object to the examinations.
KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto stated that explanations regarding the possibility of summoning Bobby Nasution to the trial would be based on the Supervisory Board's (Dewas) clarifications. "Yes, the explanation will come from the results of the clarification done by Dewas. Everything can be seen," he said after attending the International Anti-Corruption Day 2025 events in Yogyakarta on Monday.
Setyo does not object to Dewas's actions in examining the acting deputy, investigators, and public prosecutors (JPU) at the KPK. The case began with a KPK sting operation on June 26, 2025, related to alleged corruption in road construction projects at the North Sumatra Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (Dinas PUPR) and the National Road Implementation Work Unit (Satker PJN) Region I North Sumatra.
On June 28, 2025, the KPK named five suspects: Topan Obaja Putra Ginting (Head of Dinas PUPR North Sumatra), Rasuli Efendi Siregar (commitment-making official at UPTD Daerah Gunung Tua Dinas PUPR North Sumatra), Heliyanto (PPK at Satker PJN Region I North Sumatra), Muhammad Akhirun Piliang (President Director of PT Dalihan Natolu Group), and Muhammad Rayhan Dulasmi Piliang (Director of PT Rona Na Mora). The case is divided into two clusters: four projects in Dinas PUPR North Sumatra and two in Satker PJN Region I, with a total value of Rp231.8 billion.
The KPK suspects Akhirun and Rayhan as bribe givers, while Topan, Rasuli, and Heliyanto as receivers. On November 17, 2025, the Indonesian Student Activists Coalition (KAMI) reported KPK investigator Rossa Purbo Bekti for allegedly obstructing the legal process against Bobby Nasution. Dewas responded on November 18, 2025, with plans to discuss within 15 days, followed by examinations of the acting deputy on December 2, 2025, JPU on December 3, and investigators on December 4, 2025.
