The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened applications for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses for the May 2026 intake. The applications target KCSE candidates from the 2000 to 2025 cohorts seeking technical training in various institutions across Kenya. The deadline for submissions is March 18, 2026.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced the opening of applications for TVET courses at national polytechnics, technical training institutes, institutes of science and technology, and other accredited technical colleges. The body emphasized that students with any KCSE mean grade can find suitable programs. "With any KCSE mean grade, you can find a course," KUCCPS stated in its announcement.
Prospective students are advised to log into the KUCCPS student portal, select their preferred TVET courses, and submit their applications. This opportunity extends not only to 2025 KCSE candidates but also to Form Four leavers from previous years.
This initiative forms part of the government's efforts to expand technical and vocational training, equipping young people with practical skills for the job market. Recently, the cabinet approved China's involvement in upgrading over 70 TVET institutions nationwide under Phase III of the Kenya-China Project. The upgrades will include modern training equipment in eight priority technical disciplines, aligning education with labor market needs and enhancing graduates' employability.
The TVET application window follows a recent opening by the Kenya Medical Training Colleges (KMTC) for 31 courses. Meanwhile, many 2025 KCSE candidates are still awaiting the portal for university placements.
