Lewis Capaldi headlined the first Roundhay Festival in Leeds on July 4 and made light of earlier concerns over ticket sales for the show.
The Scottish singer-songwriter addressed the crowd directly during his set, saying, “You had me worried, Leeds.” He added, “Thank you for EVENTUALLY buying a ticket!” and repeated a line from his previous remarks: “What the fuck were you playing at?!”
Capaldi had raised the issue last October during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, noting that the Leeds date had sold more slowly than other shows on his 2026 tour. The Roundhay event ultimately sold out.
The new festival, organized by the team behind BST Hyde Park, also featured Pitbull on July 3 and All Things Orchestral on July 5. Capaldi’s performance formed part of his ongoing headline tour, which next visits Newcastle’s Exhibition Park on July 8.
