On Saturday, the Left Party in Skåne voted on the ballot for the Malmö district ahead of the next parliamentary election. Malcolm Momodou Jallow, incumbent MP, chair of the civil affairs committee, and housing policy spokesperson, was voted off a winnable position. According to Tove Karnerud, chair of Malmö Left Party, he will not run on the parliamentary list at all. The list is instead topped by region politician Banesa Martinez, with Morgan Svensson in second place, per Sydsvenskan and Expressen. The removal follows sharp criticism from the nomination committee, based on testimonies from anonymous members about abuse of power and harassment, as reported by Flamman via Expressen. Jallow, politically active for 15 years, criticizes the process in a Facebook post. 'Vänsterpartiet Skåne har genom drev, grova anklagelser och en odemokratisk valberedningsprocess valt att sätta maktspel för egen vinning framför partiets bästa. Efter 15 år i politiken är detta det värsta jag sett, där jag nu får utstå grova personliga påhopp och anklagelser jag aldrig fått möjlighet att ta del av, sakligt bemöta eller försvara mig mot.', he writes. He concludes that his commitment to justice continues, 'Kampen för rättvisa slutar inte här. Den fortsätter på nya sätt, i nya sammanhang, med samma övertygelse.'
