Malmö's goaltender Marek Langhamer delivered a standout performance, stopping 38 shots as his team edged Skellefteå 2-1 in overtime during their playoff series. Topi Niemelä scored the game-winner on a power play. Skellefteå leads the series 3-1.
Malmö took the lead late in the first period on Robin Salo's goal, but Skellefteå equalized midway through the second when Oscar Vuollet scored, forcing overtime after a 1-1 tie through regulation. In the extra period, Zeb Forsfjäll was penalized for tripping 6:14 in, setting up Niemelä's decisive power-play goal. Mikkel Aagaard had a golden chance for Skellefteå earlier in overtime but failed to convert. Despite dominating with a 39-15 shots advantage, Skellefteå could not solve Langhamer. Oscar Lindberg of Skellefteå said in the TV4 broadcast, 'We had the upper hand all game but couldn't get the puck in.' TV4 expert Almen Bibic praised Langhamer, calling him 'strålande' and 'a wall today' for his phenomenal play. Langhamer's effort has kept Malmö's season alive as they trail 1-3 in the series.
