Mercedes to launch drive assist pro in 2027 in munich and stuttgart

Mercedes has received approval to introduce its automated assistance system for city traffic in Germany. The first cities will be Munich and Stuttgart.

The carmaker announced that the “Drive Assist Pro” system is scheduled to become available in individual German cities by the end of 2026. Nationwide rollout is planned for the beginning of 2027.

Development chief Jörg Burzer shared the information on LinkedIn. He had previously met with Federal Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder.

The Level 2++ partially automated system steers the vehicle in city traffic, avoids obstacles and responds to traffic lights. The driver must continue to keep hands on the wheel.

Mercedes had already introduced the system in China last autumn. Rollout in the USA is scheduled for later this year.
