Tabletop publisher Modiphius has revealed plans for a new Wolfenstein roleplaying game, set in the alternate history of the franchise's modern entries. The game will use an adapted version of the 2d20 system and launch via crowdfunding in the third quarter of 2026. Fans can expect to play as resistance fighters battling Nazis in a world where they won World War II.

On March 5, 2026, Modiphius Entertainment announced Wolfenstein: The Roleplaying Game at the GAMA Expo. The tabletop RPG draws from Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, which are set in an alternate 1960s timeline where Nazis emerged victorious in World War II, using advanced technology to dominate the globe, including America.

In this setting, players take on roles as members of the Resistance, inspired by protagonist William 'BJ' Blazkowicz and the Kreisau Circle. The game emphasizes mounting daring operations against oppressors with tactical weapons, capturing the "blood, fire, and fury" of the video games. It is powered by a specially adapted version of Modiphius' 2d20 system, previously used in titles like Achtung! Cthulhu, Star Trek Adventures, and the Fallout RPG.

Modiphius co-founder Chris Birch stated in the press release: "We're thrilled to announce that we are working on a tabletop roleplaying game for Wolfenstein. We hope that fans will enjoy being able to immerse themselves in the world in a new way. Get psyched!"

The game is part of Modiphius' ongoing collaboration with Bethesda Softworks. Further details remain limited, but crowdfunding is scheduled for Q3 2026. This follows other Bethesda-licensed projects from Modiphius, such as Fallout adaptations, signaling a busy year for the publisher in tabletop gaming.

Cosa dice la gente

Reactions on X to Modiphius' announcement of the Wolfenstein tabletop RPG are generally positive and enthusiastic among gaming news outlets and users. Sites describe it as bringing hyperviolent Nazi-killing action to the table using the 2d20 system, with curiosity about adapting the video game's stealth and alternate history elements. Regular users express hype, noting stylistic appeal and potential for rich gameplay compared to alternatives like Doom. Discussion remains limited with low engagement shortly after the reveal.
