Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds is in development for the Nintendo Switch 2. The announcement also revealed details for a major expansion titled Ascendance, set for release in 2027.
Capcom stated that Monster Hunter Wilds is currently in development for Nintendo Switch 2. The company noted it will share more information, including the release date, in the future. The expansion Ascendance will introduce the Skybound Eyrie region with sky islands and floating ruins. It will feature the return of elder dragons such as Kushala Daora and the monster Lao-Shan Lung, along with Master Rank quests and a new Booster Bracer mechanic. Ascendance is scheduled for 2027 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Capcom ended the game's free content updates at the end of 2025 after earlier performance patches and event additions.
