Mozilla tests smart window ai feature in firefox beta

Mozilla has made its Smart Window AI browsing mode available in limited beta to Firefox users in the United States and Canada. The feature adds an integrated assistant that can access tabs, history and current pages.

The beta requires Firefox 150 or newer and activation through a Mozilla account portal. Users select from three AI models: Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite, Alibaba's Qwen3-235B-A22B-Instruct-2507 or OpenAI's gpt-oss-120B. All chats are stored locally on the device with options to manage memories and toggle data sharing.
