Muhammadiyah West Java starts Ramadan fast on February 18, 2026

The Muhammadiyah organization in West Java will begin the Ramadan 1447 Hijriah fast on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, according to its central leadership's decree. The first Tarawih prayer will be held on Tuesday night, February 17, 2026. Preparations at mosques have been made to welcome the holy month.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Muhammadiyah will observe the Ramadan 1447 Hijriah fast starting Wednesday (18/2/2026), with the first Tarawih prayer on Tuesday night (17/2/2026). This decision is based on the Central Leadership Decree Number 2/MLM/I.0/E/2025 and the explanation from Majelis Tarjih and Tajdid Number 01/MLM/I.1/B/2025.

Secretary of the West Java Regional Muhammadiyah Leadership, Iu Rusliana, stated that preparations are complete. "I invite all Muhammadiyah members in West Java and throughout Indonesia even around the world, insya Allah tomorrow night we will perform qiyamul lail (Tarawih)," she said on Monday (17/2/2026).

She explained that Muhammadiyah mosques have provided free takjil, preacher schedules, and various activities during Ramadan. Preparations include cleaning Masjid Al Mujahidin in Bandung City and other supporting facilities. "Insya Allah starting February 18 we will perform the fasting worship, preparations have been done, insyaallah at Muhammadiyah mosques there will be free takjil," she said.

Iu Rusliana also urged the people of West Java not to hesitate to perform worship at Muhammadiyah mosques. "Insya Allah full of khusyuk so that we can perform this worship as best as possible. So don't worry, starting tomorrow night Muhammadiyah mosques are ready with Tarawih," she added.

She hopes that all faithful can complete the one-month fasting worship well, in accordance with sunnah and sharia.
