Hajj 2026 departure schedule remains on track

Hajj and Umrah Minister Mochamad Irfan Yusuf confirmed the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage departure schedule is unchanged, with pilgrims entering dormitories on April 21 and departing April 22. The statement was made in Jombang, East Java, amid monitoring of the Middle East situation.

Hajj and Umrah Minister Mochamad Irfan Yusuf affirmed that the departure of prospective Hajj pilgrims for the 2026 season follows the planned schedule. "Regarding the departure of prospective Hajj pilgrims, up to now there has been no change; it remains April 21, 2026, for pilgrims to enter the Hajj dormitory, then depart on April 22," he said in Jombang, East Java, on Sunday (March 29, 2026).

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stated that all technical preparations are complete. "Everything is ready; we are just waiting for the departure day of the prospective Hajj pilgrims," said Gus Irfan, the minister's nickname. He likened the readiness to organizing a major event where all logistics are in place.

The government is continuously monitoring the conflict in the Middle East and coordinating with various parties to ensure the Hajj runs smoothly. "We hope the conflict in the Middle East subsides soon, and we hope those in conflict there respect the Hajj process for Muslims worldwide," he expressed. He hopes the conflict tension eases so pilgrims can worship peacefully.

The ministry is committed to professional and transparent Hajj organization with a budget of Rp18 trillion. Oversight involves the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Prosecutor's Office, and National Police for procurement and financial management.
