Nationals score five runs in fourth to beat Mariners 10-1

The Washington Nationals defeated the Seattle Mariners 10-1 on Sunday afternoon in the nation's capital. Washington erupted for five runs in the fourth inning to secure the series win.

The Nationals brought 10 batters to the plate in the fourth inning and collected five straight hits to start the rally. Dylan Crews opened the frame with a double, followed by an RBI single from CJ Abrams. Keibert Ruiz, Daylen Lile and Nasim Nuñez each drove in runs with first-pitch hits.

Manager Blake Butera praised the lineup's approach, noting that every batter contributed and the baserunning applied constant pressure. James Wood, who hit his fifth leadoff home run of the season, said the inning came together quickly once the first run scored.

The win marked Washington's 11th series victory in 16 sets since April 26. The team leads the majors with 392 runs scored this season. Keibert Ruiz added a solo homer in the seventh inning as the Nationals extended their lead.
