Netflix premieres 'El Botín' with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck

The film 'El Botín', a suspense and drama thriller inspired by real events in Miami, arrives on Netflix starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. The movie features Colombian actresses Catalina Sandino and Sasha Calle, adding a Latin touch to the story. The lead actors highlight their decades-long friendship and the talent of their co-stars.

'El Botín' is one of Netflix's most anticipated releases this year. The film, based on a real police incident in Miami involving a large hidden sum of money, follows two officers played by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as they seek justice while attempting to steal the loot.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, friends since high school nearly forty years ago, reunite on screen. "He is my favorite person to work with; we've been in several projects throughout our lives, we started in high school, so at this point, we're not very diplomatic with each other," Damon said. Affleck praised his co-star: "I don't think I'm the only person who loves working with Matt Damon... his reputation is very good; he's known as one of the most professional, beloved, and easy to work with."

The movie features two Colombian actresses: Catalina Sandino, born in Bogotá in 1981 and the only Colombian Oscar nominee, and Sasha Calle, born in Medellín in 1995. Damon highlighted their talent: "I first saw Catalina 10 or 15 years ago on Broadway; she impressed me a lot. And Sasha blew me away with how wonderful she is." Affleck added that they helped him understand Colombian culture: "They told me about their culture, the food, life itself. There are actors who can bring certain qualities to productions, and they gave that extra touch."

The script is a fast-paced thriller with complex characters where it's unclear who the good or bad guys are, adding intrigue to the plot.
