Rose Yee, 68, was arrested in Valley Stream after police said she threw lit matches at a man during an argument at her home.
The incident occurred on Monday at 8:40 p.m. when police responded to a domestic disturbance. Yee had a verbal altercation with a 68-year-old man who held an order of protection against her. She allegedly threw lit matches at him, threatened to burn the house down, and set an item of clothing on fire before throwing it in front of the house.
Yee was charged with two counts of menacing and three counts of criminal contempt. She had prior arrests for criminal contempt on May 27 and July 3. The man was not injured, and no fire damage was reported.
Yee pleaded not guilty at Nassau County District Court on Tuesday. She is scheduled to appear again on July 27.
