事件は月曜日の午後8時40分に発生し、家庭内トラブルの通報を受けた警察が出動した。イー容疑者は、自身に対して接近禁止命令を出していた68歳の男性と口論になり、男性に向けて火のついたマッチを投げつけたほか、「家を燃やす」と脅迫し、衣類に火をつけて家の前に投げ捨てた疑いが持たれている。
イー容疑者は、2件の脅迫罪と3件の刑事侮辱罪で起訴された。同容疑者は5月27日と7月3日にも刑事侮辱罪で逮捕歴がある。男性にけがはなく、火災による被害も報告されていない。
イー容疑者は火曜日にナッソー郡地方裁判所で無罪を主張した。次回の出廷は7月27日に予定されている。
