Hong Kong's Secretary for Development Bernadette Linn Hon-ho stated that no public subsidies will be required for the Pak Shek Kok MTR station project.
Bernadette Linn Hon-ho said the government has agreed to grant development rights for two sites, one in Pak Shek Kok and another in Ma On Shan, to support the station.
She told a radio programme that land grants would reflect the project’s full costs and allow the MTR Corporation to generate sufficient returns.
“We are still awaiting the MTR Corp’s detailed design and cost estimates,” Linn said.
“Under the rail-plus-property model, as long as assessments are properly conducted, changes at any stage should not require government funding,” she added.
