Oakland Ethiopian restaurant backs Addis Ababa skaters via T-shirt collaboration

Café Colucci has partnered with Ethiopia Skate to release a collaborative T-shirt, with proceeds supporting the growing skateboarding scene in Addis Ababa.

Café Colucci opened in Oakland in 1991 and is among the first Ethiopian eateries in California. Daniel Aderaw Yeshiwas serves as its general manager and operates Brundo Spice Co. from inside the cafe.

Ethiopia Skate launched in 2013 to promote skateboarding in Addis Ababa. The T-shirt was designed by Los Angeles-based Addis Daniel of Mandala Studios.

Yeshiwas flew to Ethiopia to meet the group. He plans to bring representatives soon to screen documentaries they have filmed.
