Oli Sykes reveals reason for inviting fans onstage

Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes shared in a recent interview why the band regularly brings fans up to sing during shows. The practice stems from his own teenage experience with another band. Sykes recounted the story during an appearance on SiriusXM.

Sykes explained that the idea came from when he was 15 and joined Welsh post-hardcore band Funeral For A Friend on stage. Their singer had fallen ill and passed out midway through the set, leading the group to consider ending the performance early. Sykes volunteered to sing despite describing himself as a shy teenager at the time.
