Over 60 percent of people in Japan plan for Mother's Day, survey finds

A new survey shows that more than 60 percent of people in Japan have plans for Mother's Day. Among respondents, 21.2 percent said they will give confectioneries and 17.6 percent chose flowers.

The survey was published on May 7, 2026. 14.4 percent of respondents said they will simply say thank you on Mother's Day.

The findings reflect people's actions amid rising prices. More than 60 percent overall reported having plans for the occasion.
