Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has approved naming newly completed government buildings after three former governors. The facilities will be commissioned on scheduled dates in July, August and October 2026.
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji approved the naming of newly completed government buildings after Chief Ayodele Fayose, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Engr. Segun Oni. The move recognizes their contributions to the state's development.
The announcement came in a statement issued on Tuesday by Governor’s Special Adviser on Media Yinka Oyebode. Buildings named after Fayemi and Fayose will be commissioned on July 31 and August 3 2026 respectively.
A building named after Segun Oni remains at an advanced stage of completion and is scheduled for commissioning in October. The three former governors are expected to attend the ceremonies as special guests of honour and inaugurate the facilities themselves.
This follows a similar step in October 2024 when Oyebanji named the remodelled Presidential Lodge after Otunba Niyi Adebayo. The current initiative forms part of efforts to complete projects under the Shared Prosperity Agenda.
