Speaking on Panther-Lair.com’s YouTube channel, Louis called the experience 'definitely great.' He noted his familiarity with the Pittsburgh area but said it was his first time on 'that side' of the shared facilities, where he met new coaches including his position coach. 'Seeing it from the other side, they do actually pay attention to a lot of Pitt players and show love to us that I never really noticed,' Louis said. 'It’s a good thing to notice.' During his time at Pitt from 2022 to 2025, Louis appeared in 35 games with 26 starts, recording 201 tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and six interceptions. The Steelers and Pitt share facilities, providing the NFL team with close insight into college prospects. The franchise has previously drafted Pitt players, including quarterback Kenny Pickett and running back James Conner, selected in the third round in 2017. Louis stands out for his athleticism and coverage skills but is considered undersized for an NFL linebacker role, with challenges against run blocks. Steelers Depot analyst Nate Kosko has suggested he could transition to safety, a position where the team seeks depth despite set starters.
