Ramayana trailer released with Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Yash as Ravana

The trailer for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana was unveiled on July 30. It features Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Yash as Ravana ahead of the film’s Diwali 2026 release.

The trailer opens with visuals of Yash as Ravana assuming rule of his kingdom. Ranbir Kapoor appears as Rama, introduced by his father Dashrath, played by Arun Govil. Rama vows to protect mankind even at the cost of his own life.

The four-minute trailer covers Rama’s marriage to Sita, their 14-year exile, and the attack on Rakul Preet’s character Surpanakha by Lakshman. It shows Ravana planning revenge and intense battle sequences between Rama and his enemies.

Rama declares, “If Ravana is the ruler of three realms, then all three realms shall witness his death.” The film includes music by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. It is produced by Prime Focus Studios, DNEG and Monster Mind Creations with a budget exceeding Rs 4,000 crore. The first part releases in theatres on Diwali 2026.
