Rappler interviews Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine, founder and CEO of Khan Academy Philippines, and COO Myrish Cadapan-Antonio on Tuesday, March 24, to discuss their mission for free education. From a 2023 pilot in 34 schools, they have reached over 2,700 schools nationwide.

It is the first international licensee of the global nonprofit Khan Academy, with a mission to provide free, world-class education to all using digital learning tools. Acuña-Sunshine states that Philippine education sector problems 'may seem insurmountable, but there’s nothing Filipinos can’t do.' Their 2023 pilot began with 34 schools in Metro Manila and Dumaguete City, now reaching more than 2,700 schools nationwide.
