Scottie Scheffler shared stories from his early golf days during a press conference at the PGA Championship. He highlighted how his parents avoided pushing him too hard and described one memorable rule from his mother.
Speaking Tuesday at Aronimink Golf Club, Scheffler recalled a junior qualifier when he was 12 years old. His father initially said he could only play the qualifier and skip the main tournament that week because of family plans. After Scheffler won the qualifier, his father relented and allowed him to compete, where he finished fifth and earned full exemption status.
