These include western Härjedalsfjällen, Abisko/Riksgränsfjällen, western Vindelfjällen, southern Lapplandsfjällen, and southern Jämtlandsfjällen. In Kebnekaisefjällen, the risk is assessed as moderate.
Earlier on Saturday, February 21, 2026, a 75-meter-wide avalanche occurred at Ramundberget in Härjedalen municipality. According to Tidningen Härjedalen, there are no indications that anyone was injured in the avalanche.
For western Härjedalsfjällen, Lavinprognoser states: “It takes very little to trigger avalanches, and they can become large enough to bury a person.” The forecast is valid until 6:00 PM on Sunday.
