South Africa defeated Scotland 42-28 at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday in a Nations Championship match. The Springboks scored six tries to four and retained top spot on the log.
The Springboks clung on to secure their tenth consecutive Test victory. Coach Rassie Erasmus fielded a mix-and-match side with ten changes, and the team responded to beat Scotland despite periods of pressure.
South Africa scored tries through Embrose Papier, Evan Roos, Elrigh Louw, Damian Willemse, Zach Porthen and Jesse Kriel. Handrè Pollard converted five of them. Scotland replied with tries from Matt Fagerson, Kyle Rowe, Josh Bayliss and Ben White.
The result made South Africa the first team to defeat every Rugby Championship and Six Nations side in a 12-month period. Erasmus celebrated his 55th Test in charge with the bonus-point win.
