Squarepusher announces new album Kammerkonzert

British electronic musician Squarepusher, the project of Tom Jenkinson, has revealed details of his upcoming sixteenth studio album, Kammerkonzert, set for release on April 10 via Warp Records. The announcement includes the debut single 'K2 Central,' accompanied by a music video directed by Jo Apps. The album draws on orchestral themes with experimental electronic elements.

Squarepusher, the alias of British producer Tom Jenkinson, has announced his new album, Kammerkonzert, marking his sixteenth studio release. Scheduled for April 10 on Warp Records, it follows his 2024 album Dostrotime and the previous year's archival collection Stereotype.

The lead single, 'K2 Central,' previews the album's sound, which incorporates orchestral themes alongside progressive, ambient, electronic, and experimental elements. Jenkinson composed the tracks using live drums, electric bass, guitar, and instruments from a sound library. Originally, he planned to collaborate with classically trained musicians after composing for an orchestra in 2016, but an injury disrupted those efforts, leading him to perform the orchestral arrangements live by himself.

'Kammerkonzert' translates to 'chamber concert' in German, reflecting its compositional style. The album features 14 tracks:

  1. K1 Advance
  2. K2 Central
  3. K3 Diligence
  4. K4 Fairlands
  5. K5 Fremantle
  6. K6 Headquarters
  7. K7 Museum
  8. K8 Park
  9. K9 Reliance
  10. K10 Terminus
  11. K11 Tideway
  12. K12 Uplands
  13. K13 Vigilant
  14. K14 Welbeck

A music video for 'K2 Central,' directed by Jo Apps, accompanies the single's release. This project underscores Jenkinson's three-decade career as an innovative bass and electronic artist.
