The Steelers recently agreed to extensions worth nearly $150 million with outside linebacker Nick Herbig and tight end Darnell Washington. Attention now shifts to Porter, who performed strongly in 2025 by limiting opposing quarterbacks to under 50 percent completion in coverage. Kaboly stated on X that the team remains interested in a deal for the cornerback that would require restructuring other contracts. He emphasized there is no question a long-term agreement will be reached. Reporter Jeff Hathhorn suggested Porter seeks top-five cornerback pay, potentially above $30 million annually depending on guarantees and length. Hathhorn noted the player’s confidence in his elite status and the team’s willingness to invest given their salary cap position. Such a contract would place Porter among the NFL’s highest-paid corners alongside players like Trent McDuffie and Sauce Gardner. The deal could extend into training camp but appears certain to keep Porter with the franchise.
