The Mohave County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the death of 'Storage Wars' star Darrell Sheets a suicide, as Lake Havasu City police continue investigating allegations of cyberbullying in the weeks before his death. His cellphone is undergoing forensic analysis.
Darrell Sheets, 67, was found dead on April 22 at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The medical examiner confirmed the suicide ruling on Tuesday, pending toxicology results.
Fellow 'Storage Wars' cast member Rene Nezhoda alleged that Sheets faced relentless online bullying prior to his death. Lake Havasu City Police Department confirmed to TMZ they are actively investigating these cyberbullying claims. Officers submitted Sheets' cellphone to their Criminal Investigations Unit for forensic examination to assess any role of online harassment.
'We are aware of these cyberbullying accusations and that is a part of the active investigation,' police stated.
