Studio Nicholson stages first runway show after 16 years

Designer Nick Wakeman presented her debut runway collection for Studio Nicholson this week at Hotel d’Evreux during Paris Fashion Week.

Wakeman waited 16 years to stage the show for the spring 2027 season. The London-based brand used the occasion to highlight its focus on wholesale growth and potential expansion in Asia.

The tightly edited presentation featured 30 looks for men and women. It opened with a man wearing a micro-striped button-up shirt and pleated pants, followed by a woman in mid-waist trousers and a black tab-collar shirt.

Wakeman said in the show notes that she wanted “to see the clothes move” and liked “the idea that it’s live and not just another static image.” The collection drew from inspirations including the song “Someone to Watch Over Me,” Charlotte Rampling, Isabella Rossellini in tailoring, and architect Tadao Ando.

Key pieces included a loosely cut brown double-breasted suit, a mariner stripe shirt with flowing pants, and a suede straight-cut coat paired with a cropped leather jacket.
