The call came days after a similar message from Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Anwar said he hopes to visit Tamil Nadu in September during his trip to India for the BRICS Summit.
C Joseph Vijay, who recently took office as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, spoke with Anwar Ibrahim. The Malaysian leader conveyed best wishes and mentioned plans to meet Vijay during the September BRICS Summit visit.
The exchange follows another overseas congratulatory call Vijay received earlier from Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Both calls highlight early international outreach to the new state leader.
