Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce said I do on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in a lavish ceremony officiated by Adam Sandler. Guests initially laughed thinking the comedian's appearance was a prank. Shaquille O'Neal later joked about being left off the guest list.
The 1,000 guests at the reported $30 million event burst into laughter when Sandler, 59, took the altar after getting legally ordained. Attendee Jonathan Thomas recalled on The Compound and Friends podcast that Sandler spoke for 20 or 30 minutes, mixing humor with sincerity and even singing.
Thomas shared Sandler's twist on traditional vows, noting he told the couple they would not have to worry about being rich or poor. The comedian also advised them to kiss each other often. Both Swift and Kelce, 36, wrote and delivered their own 30-minute vows that moved the crowd, including 300-pound football players, to tears.
Performances featured Swift singing with Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks. Shaquille O'Neal, who was not invited despite his connection to Kelce, quipped at Fanatics Fest, "Thanks, Taylor. Thanks, Travis," while wishing the marriage would last forever.
