Tesla starts Cybertruck deliveries in UAE as second international market

Tesla has begun delivering Cybertruck vehicles in the United Arab Emirates, marking the model's second international market after South Korea. This move comes as the company addresses declining sales in the US. Deliveries were confirmed by Tesla's Europe, Middle East & Africa account, with a launch event held in Dubai.

Tesla confirmed on February 15, 2026, that Cybertruck deliveries have started in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This development positions the Middle East as the second international market for the electric pickup, following South Korea, where sales began in November 2025.

The announcement highlights Tesla's strategy to counter falling Cybertruck sales in the US by expanding into regions where the vehicle can be sold without major modifications. A launch event took place in the Al Marmoom desert area of Dubai, featuring around 63 Cybertruck units. Images shared online showed buyers taking possession of their vehicles.

Pricing in the UAE reflects import and regulatory factors. The Dual-Motor AWD Cybertruck starts at AED 404,900, equivalent to about $110,000, compared to $79,990 in the US. The tri-motor version is priced at AED 454,900 ($123,000), higher than the US price of $114,990.

The choice of the Middle East aligns with compliance considerations similar to those in South Korea. In contrast, the Cybertruck cannot be sold in the European Union due to regulatory hurdles. Its sharp-edged stainless steel body violates EU pedestrian protection standards, which require deformable crumple zones. Additionally, the vehicle exceeds the EU's 3.5-tonne weight limit for certain categories. Reports indicate that even the US Army is unable to export Cybertrucks for personnel stationed in Europe.

This expansion underscores Tesla's efforts to navigate global market challenges for the Cybertruck.
