A shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego on Monday killed three people, including a security guard, while two teenage suspects were later found dead in a vehicle nearby. Authorities are investigating the attack as a hate crime.
The incident unfolded around 11:43 a.m. local time when the two teens opened fire outside the mosque, which houses a school with more than 100 children in attendance. Security guard Amin Abdullah triggered a lockdown that kept students safe before he was killed, along with two other men. San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl credited Abdullah's actions, saying they were heroic and saved lives.
