Trueno discusses fourth studio album TURR4ZO

Argentine rapper Trueno has shared insights into his fourth studio album, TURR4ZO, blending hip-hop with Argentine roots and global influences. The project features collaborations with artists like Milo J and Maria Becerra, ahead of its full release. Trueno described it as a personal homage that merges danceable rhythms with messages of rebellion.

Trueno, fresh from recognition at the Latin GRAMMY Awards, explained that TURR4ZO draws deeply from his Buenos Aires barrio origins. The album incorporates samples from Los Wachiturros and mixes urban, Caribbean, and rock elements with hip-hop. He noted the name emerged late in production from the track 'TURRAZO,' capturing his Argentine identity and personal journey. 'This album was crazy!' Trueno said, highlighting how it condenses themes from prior works like Atrevido, BIEN O MAL, and EL ÚLTIMO BAILE into something new. Collaborations include Milo J, Maria Becerra, Pity on 'PITY IN THE SKY,' and Andrés Calamaro on '1000 HORAS.' Tracks like 'RAIN IV,' dedicated to his parents, 'PUMA' for Argentina, 'ESTILO SUDAKA' for South America, and 'URUGUAY' inspired by family, add layers of dedication. Trueno released the single 'X UNAS LLANTAS' paired with custom Nike Shox R4 sneakers and a video for 'Tírate un Paso.' '[TURR4ZO] is disguised as something very danceable and easy to digest, but it also carries a message—maybe more subtly, by bringing together polar opposites,' Trueno told Hypebeast. He emphasized intentional sampling, cleared with effort through Sony, and aims for listeners to discover subliminal messages on repeated plays. Looking ahead, Trueno sees this as a turning point for exploring new horizons in rap.
