Trump arrives in Busan for summit with Xi

U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Busan on Thursday, October 30, ahead of a highly anticipated summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping. He had arrived in South Korea the previous day to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) gathering and hold talks with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung. The meeting marks the first summit between Trump and Xi in six years.

President Trump departed from Gyeongju earlier on Thursday, where the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) gatherings were hosted this year. After leaving his hotel in Gyeongju, he boarded the presidential helicopter, Marine One, and flew to Gimhae International Airport in Busan. The summit with Xi is scheduled at Naraemaru, a reception hall within an Air Force base at the airport.

Trump arrived in South Korea on October 29 to participate in the APEC events and conduct bilateral talks with President Lee Jae Myung. This move to Busan sets the stage for his first meeting with Xi in six years, expected to address trade and security issues between the U.S. and China. According to Yonhap News Agency, Trump's itinerary focuses on wrapping up his South Korea visit centered around the APEC summit.

The APEC 2025, hosted by South Korea, emphasizes global economic cooperation and regional stability amid ongoing tensions. Trump's visit draws significant attention in the context of U.S.-China relations, with details of any agreements likely to emerge post-summit.
