Volador Jr. captured the CMLL World Historic Middleweight Championship from Flip Gordon on July 3 at the promotion's Viernes Espectacular event.
The match featured high-flying maneuvers and brawling outside the ring. Gordon attempted moves including a 450 Splash and a Swanton Bomb before Volador Jr. countered with a Canadian Destroyer to secure the victory.
Volador Jr. begins his second reign with the title. His first lasted 45 days in 2012 before ending against then-Prince Devitt, now known as Finn Balor.
Gordon had held the championship for 595 days after winning it from Villano III Jr. in November 2024. He defended the belt against opponents such as Rocky Romero and Dragon Rojo Jr. during his run.
