Withdrawals deplete field at Luhmühlen Horse Trials

Defending champions Ros Canter and Izilot DHI have withdrawn from the 2026 Longines Luhmühlen Horse Trials CCI5* in Germany. The event runs from 17 to 21 June with a reduced entry list.

Ros Canter's second ride MHS Seventeen has also been pulled out. Other British withdrawals include Laura Collett with Hester, Andrew Downes on Cooley Foxtrot, Elspeth Bryce on Lacoste, Alexander Tordoff with Cool Jack and Harry Meade with Jet Fighter.

US riders Grace Taylor with Game Changer and Lucienne Bellissimo with Kitsch Couture HPK are out, along with Australia's Bill Levett and Sligo Candy Cane. The CCI5* field has dropped from 31 to 22 combinations.

The CCI4*-S Meßmer Trophy has reduced from 63 to 50 entries. The trot-up takes place on 17 June with dressage starting on 18 June.

Britain’s Caroline Harris and D. Day won the Longines Luhmühlen Horse Trials CCI5* on 21 June 2026. The pair finished with a faultless showjumping round to secure their second five-star victory.

The field for the Longines Luhmühlen Horse Trials has been confirmed for the event running from 18 to 21 June. Defending five-star champions Ros Canter and Izilot DHI head a list of 30 starters. The competition takes place eight weeks before the World Eventing Championships in Aachen.

Oliver Townend has withdrawn his horse Cooley Rosalent from this week’s Mars Badminton Horse Trials, scheduled for May 6-10. The pair, who finished second last year, were second favourites behind Ros Canter and Lordships Graffalo. Townend expressed great disappointment in a statement.
