Indonesia, along with seven other Muslim-majority nations, has announced its joining of the Gaza Peace Council initiated by US President Donald Trump. The decision was revealed in a joint statement by foreign ministers, including Indonesia's Sugiono, to support stability in Palestine. Indonesia begins its term as President of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for 2026 on January 8, 2026. Indonesia's Permanent Representative in Geneva, Sidharto Reza Suryodipuro, affirmed the commitment to uphold integrity, objectivity, and credibility in fulfilling the mandate. Indonesia pledges to collaborate with all stakeholders to advance human rights inclusively.
