Mjällby claims cup title after 2-1 win over Hammarby

Mjällby AIF defeated Hammarby 2-1 in the Swedish Cup final at Strawberry Arena in Solna. The win gave the club its first-ever cup title in front of a record crowd.
Last year's Allsvenskan champions Mjällby have started the season with two losses after a 0–2 defeat to newcomers Örgryte at Strandvallen. Despite creating several chances, the home side failed to break through Örgryte's defense. Captain Jesper Gustavsson described the situation as 'tough right now'.

Hammarby opened Allsvenskan 2026 with a convincing 3-0 win over reigning champions Mjällby. Paulos Abraham scored a hattrick at 3Arena in front of 30,162 spectators. Mjällby players were deeply disappointed with their performance.
