The Greater Chennai Corporation has begun work on a pedestrian plaza along M.C. Road in North Chennai. The project, estimated at more than ₹24 crore, includes cobbled walkways and an underground storm-water drain network.

The Kenya National Highways Authority has opened the 11.3-kilometre Mombasa-Kwa Jomvu Interchange to traffic. The move follows years of delays caused by compensation issues. The project is now 99.4 per cent complete.
The Kenya Urban Roads Authority has announced a partial nightly closure of a section of Ngong Road near Junction Mall from May 18 to May 31 to complete asphalt works on the new flyover.
