Appeal court reduces sentences in Think Pink case

The Svea Court of Appeal has issued its ruling in Sweden's largest environmental case involving Think Pink. Fariba Andersson is sentenced to five years in prison and Thomas Nilsson to four years and six months. Two people are fully acquitted.
Researchers at the University of Gothenburg found that feelings of disgust from dirty recycling stations lead to poorer waste sorting. An experiment showed clear improvements when stations received extra cleaning. The study was published in the Journal of Environmental Psychology.

Japan's Environment Ministry plans to compile an action plan by March to curb household clothing waste. In 2024, households purchased around 770,000 tons of clothes, with approximately 480,000 tons discarded, much of it incinerated or landfilled.
