On December 15, 2025, ODM deputy leader Simba Arati led a large party meeting in Eldoret, urging President William Ruto to abandon UDA and return to ODM to bolster the Government of National Unity. He pledged continued cooperation with the government, emphasizing ODM's nationwide roots.
In a meeting held in the heart of Eldoret, President Ruto's political stronghold, Arati demonstrated ODM's national presence. He stated, “Today I am in Eldoret, the political fortress of President William Ruto, to show that ODM is a national party. We support the Government of National Unity as left by Raila Odinga because our unity is our strength.”
Arati stressed that ODM would not remain in opposition in the upcoming government and would join it. “The Government of National Unity is making progress, and I am confident that in whatever way, ODM will be in government after 2027,” he added. He was surprised by the warm reception in the UDA area.
To support his point, he urged Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii to include all tribes in his administration and stop harassing small traders and boda boda operators, especially during the holiday season. “I request the county to employ Kenyans from all tribes and allow traders and boda boda service providers without disturbance, especially this festive season,” he said.
The visit filled the city with ODM's orange color, an event reminiscent of 2007 when Ruto and Raila Odinga were allies. Prior to this, Dr. Oburu Oginga and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga had visited Bii, emphasizing collaboration with the President until 2027.
