Authorities detain ‘El Fresa’, CJNG cell leader, in Tlalmanalco

Authorities in Mexico State arrested Kevin “N”, alias ‘El Fresa’, alleged leader of a Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) cell in Tlalmanalco, along with six others. The operations yielded drugs, a firearm, and cell phones. Prosecutors link them to a woman's homicide on February 4.

Security forces from the Unified Command Eastern Zone, Mexico State Security Secretariat, and local police arrested seven people linked to the CJNG in two operations in Tlalmanalco.

In Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood, they detained Giovanni “N”, 30, Jesús “N”, 20, Víctor “N”, 19, and two minors fleeing on motorcycles. Authorities seized 72 bags of marijuana, 374 crystal wraps, and two phones. The suspects admitted to drug sales, extortion fees, and kidnappings in Tlalmanalco, Chalco, and Juchitepec.

In Bella Vista neighborhood, they captured Kevin “N”, alias ‘El Fresa’, 31, and Aline “N”, 26. Items seized included a 9 mm pistol with magazine and five rounds, 40 crystal wraps, and a phone.

Mexico State Prosecutor's Office sources stated preliminary inquiries link ‘El Fresa’ to a woman's homicide on February 4, ordered amid plaza control disputes. The detainees were transferred to the Public Ministry Agency in Chalco to determine their legal status.

These actions follow prior arrests in the area, such as five alleged CJNG members on February 6, connected to a homicide body hidden in a septic tank.
