Banco de Bogotá launches policy for SMEs with Seguros Alfa

Banco de Bogotá announced the launch of the “Contigo en tu negocio” policy, in partnership with Seguros Alfa, to protect assets of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The initiative is part of the “Larga Vida a las Pymes” program and provides tailored coverage for their operational needs.

Banco de Bogotá introduced the specialized policy for SMEs, covering buildings, contents, inventories, machinery, and electronic equipment, plus economic support for downtime. It features eight adjustable plans, monthly or annual payment options, and a streamlined contracting process without on-site inspections.

“We believe in the power of SMEs and support them to be more competitive and key players in the country's progress; that's why we developed a patrimonial protection solution, an enabler of financial stability and business resilience,” said Anderson Monsalve, director of SME Banking at Banco de Bogotá.

Sector data shows the most used coverages by SMEs are for theft (45%), material damage (38%), and fire or natural events (37%), with claims ratios near 50% in recent years. Carmina Rico, vice president of Bancaseguros at Seguros Alfa, stated: “Through this alliance with Banco de Bogotá, we aim to bring protection tools that allow entrepreneurs to operate with greater confidence and strengthen their businesses' sustainability.”

The partnership expands the bank's SME offerings, combining asset protection with liquidity, digitalization, payments, and business training solutions.
