The sequel to the 1997 hit Border, starring Sunny Deol, has achieved remarkable box office success, collecting over Rs 121 crore in India within its first three days. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film also features Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh in key roles. Filmmaker Karan Johar celebrated the triumph, proclaiming Bollywood's comeback.
Border 2 has delivered an impressive performance in its first three days of release. It opened with Rs 30 crore on Friday, earned Rs 36.5 crore on Saturday, and jumped 49% to Rs 54.5 crore on Sunday. This brings the total Indian box office collection to Rs 121 crore, with a global gross of Rs 158.5 crore.
The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 61.14% on Sunday, starting at 31.46% in morning shows and peaking at 77.03% in the evening. It is outperforming 2025's biggest hit Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh.
Karan Johar shared on Instagram: “The mega success of the two recent back to back mega Hindi film successes prove one thing…. BOLLYWOOD (yes incorrect terminology but here to stay) is BACK!
